Op de website kotaku.com is een interview met de man achter Tekken 6, Katsuhiro Harada, verschenen. In dit driedelige interview verteld Harada over wat Tekken van ander fighting games onderscheidt, over hoe hij Tekken 6 heeft gebalanceerd en over Harada's standpunt mbt Tekken online spelen.
Het laatste interview laat wel wat vraagtekens achter.

"It's a good question. Traditionally in arcades, you would often fight side-by-side against someone you didn't know. You also get to fight side-by-side with the home console version, but you are fighting against family and friends. You always know your opponent, so the atmosphere isn't the same. Now you're online against a friend or maybe someone you don't know, but you're far away "” you can't see their reaction or anything." ... "Fighting games aren't really tailored to online play at the moment because of the lag," he said. "œBut as technology evolves and the infrastructure gets better, and you have much less latency, perhaps that kind of participation "” whether that be avatars watching or whatever "” can be recreated."
Wat hij hier zegt is dat fighting games niet online gespeeld horen te worden, want dat vermindert het sociale aspect van gaming. Ook spreekt hij van het verminderen van lag als toekomstbeeld, maar dat is toch allang opgelost, zoals bij Street Fighter 4?

Een nieuwe online(/offline) mode? Eerst maar eens online, Harada-san...
Ja das dus fail de ganse game draait rond online gaming door dat je niet hoger in rank kan gaan zonder online te spelen bv, maar dan zeggen dat het niet hoort online gespeeld te worde is gewoon toegeven dat je fouten hebt gemaakt.
